Chemical Peels

Chemical peels remove damaged outer layers of skin on the face to smooth texture, reduce scarring, and remove blemishes and precancerous growths to produce healthy, glowing skin. There are different types of chemical peels ranging from mild to strong - Salift, Vitalift and Acculift. Which peel is used is tailored to each patient and the expected results combined with the amount of permissible down time. Peels can be combined with other prodecures for a younger look.

Hair Reduction

Excessive hair growth may arise from puberty, pregnancy, menopause, heredity, medication, diseases or many other causes. The patient who is tired of temporary, often painful methods of removing unwanted hair - from depilatories, epilators and shavers to waxing and electrolysis - may welcome treatment for unwanted hair.

At Aesthetic and Clinical Dermatology, we use Intense Pulsed Light to produce high intensity beams of light that are abosrbed by dark pigments in the hair follicles beneath the skin's surface and converted to heat, destroying the follicles and preventing hair growth for up to two years or longer. Multiple treatments are required for complete hair removal because the follicle must be in the active phase of growth at the time of treatment. Only a portion of given hair follicles are active at any given time. Treatments are needle-free and anesthesia-free, with most patients feeling nothing more than a slight sting like the sna of a rubber band. Cooling rollers and cooling gels are utilized to reduce the discomfort.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is the gold standard treatment for varicose, reticular and spider leg veins (abnormally enlarged blood vessels visible through the skin). The procedure involves injecting a sclerosing agent into the vein, which then causes irritation and corrosion to the walls of the vessel. It then collapses and is absorbed by the body. These injections are relatively pain free. The average treatment program is outpatient and takes one to three sessions, depending on the amount of vessels to be treated. After each treatment session patients are encouraged to wear compression hose for a few days or weeks and to walk or exercise and resume regular activities to speed recovery. Sclerotherapy rarely produces scarring or other side effects (typically these involve minor swelling, bruising, discoloration and itching). Following treatment, the affected veins may darken and the area may appear pigmented but this is temporary and will fade over time.

Filling Agents

The body's natural supply of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid diminish with time. To supplement this loss and reduce signs of aging, various types of fillers can be injected beneath the skin. Problem areas are instantly raised up giving volume and fullness to depressed areas.

Areas of the face which are most commonly treated include worry lines (forehead lines), periorbital lines (crow's feet), periocular depressions (area beneath eye), glabellar frown lines (frown lines between the eyebrows), peri-oral lines (smoker's lines/vertidal lines over the mouth), oral commissures (lines at the corner of the mouth extending downward), nasolabial furrows (deep lines that run from the side of the nose to the corners of the mouth), and the vermillion border (where the red of the lip meets the flesh colored skin surrounding). Other popular uses include filling cheek depressions, softening depressed scar tissue (e.g., acne), and injecting the lip border to create fuller plumper lips.

Fractional Laser Peel

The Fractional Laser Peel uses fractionated microbeams of laser energy for skin resurfacing. With little to no downtime for patients, the fractional laser peel provides skin resurfacing treatments with high efficacy and comfort with real "wow" results. This laser works by high-precision microbeams penetrating the epidermis and dermis, stimulating the body's natural healing response to create new, healthy tissue.

The laser peel treats both medical and cosmetic conditions such as pigmentary changes, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scaring, enlarged pores and sun damage. While positive results will be seen after one treatment, optimum results are achieved after several treatments.

Anesthetic Agents may be used to control discomfort during the procedure. Swelling, redness, and sloughing of the skin usually subsides within 4-5 days.

Microdermabrasion

A safe noninvasive skin resurfacing procedure which gently exfoliates the outermost epidermal layer revealing smoother, younger skin. This procedure diminishes fine wrinkles, enlarged pores, age spots, acne scarring, sun damage, oily skin, hyperpigmentation, and extracts blackheads and whiteheads. While positive results will be seen after just one treatment, optimum results will be achieved after 3-6. Treatments may be performed once every 30 days and take approximately 30 minutes. Most parts of the body may be treated, and the procedure is beneficial for both men and women.

Vaginal Rejuvenation

BTL ULTRA Femme 360 is an innovative, safe and effective non-surgical alternative to vaginoplasty and labiaplasty procedures. ULTRA Femme is the only technology of its kind providing complete vaginal rejuvenation including labial remodeling (labia reduction) and vaginal tightening with a single device. It uses the body's natural processes to stimulate collagen production and restore the vaginal and vulvar areas to a more youthful state. The technology has been recently cleared by the US FDA to provide heating for the purpose of elevating tissue temperature for conditions such as relief of pain and increase in local circulation. The Company is currently seeking additional clearances.
